SUNDAY

 

MASTER AUDITIONS – 11th & 12th Grade – 6:00-7:30pm

Finding and preparing audition material is a difficult. This class will give you the tools to master any audition process. Weekly performances and feedback will help strengthen your connection to the material and gain the necessary skills to improve your audition technique and find comfort in the audition room

 

ADVANCED MEISNER – 13+ – 7:30-9:30pm

Considered one of the most important and popular acting techniques, you will dive deeper into the Meisner principles that can help transform your acting style from “pretending” to “honest organic expression” whether on stage or on camera. Through short and long form scenes, you will work to discover a true connection to your partner and work to develop organic reactions and freedom within a scene or piece.

MONDAY

 

HOW TO ACT A SONG – 13+ – 6:00-7:30pm

Love to Sing? What to impact your audience with your work? The artistry of singing is much more than a just a beautiful, powerful vocal. It is the ability to captivate and hold people with the story. In this class, you will learn the skills necessary to become more than a pretty voice. Learn how to break down a song, find a clear objective, explore interesting tactics, discover musical cues and how to use them to your advantage, and develop a heightened state of activity with the context of the song.

 

PERFORMING SHAKESPEARE – 13+ – 7:30-9:30pm

Known as the greatest playwright in history, Shakespeare can be the most exciting works an actor can perform. Through the study of his work, an actor will develop elementary skills that will amplify their acting ability no matter what style they are performing – skills like clarity of character, utilizing the language in the script, character styles, and dynamic choices. Learn how to understand, perform, and showcase the works of this revolutionary playwright. Showcase and performance opportunities will be available in the spring.

TUESDAY

 

THROUGH THE EYES OF A CASTING DIRECTOR- 10+ – 6:30-7:30pm

Take a glimpse into the process of auditioning from the eyes of the directors and discover what they look for in an audition. Through the running of mock auditions and analyzing current audition postings, you will gain insight into what directors and casting agents look for from behind the table, decipher what shows and parts you are good for, and practice how to properly to make the most of your time in the audition room.In this class, you will learn the fundamentals of auditioning and how to get a director’s attention. Lessons will incorporate everything from selecting audition material, performance, cold reading, headshots, and resumes. You will focus on song and monologue choices, be taught basic Stanislavski, Hagen and Shurtleff Techniques as well as other industry techniques to help you prepare and conquer your next audition. This class will culminate not only in a mini-audition package that each student can use and expand from, but also a video reel of their pieces that can be used for future possible audition submissions.

WEDNESDAY

FOUNDATIONS IN ACTING – 13+ – 8:00-9:30pm

Knowledge promotes confidence. Learn how to take control of growth in acting. In this class, you will gain the “know how” to improve your performance ability, minimize your stress in the rehearsal process, and get greater success in class, in auditions, and on stage, through the exploration and study of various acting techniques like Stanislavski, Chubbuck, and Shurtleff.

THURSDAY

 

BEGINNING MEISNER- 10+ – 6:00-7:00pm

This class will start with the basic foundations of the Meisner technique and guide students through the journey of discovering what it is to develop true and honest characters and moments on stage and television.Through the use of various Meisner exercises, students will not only gain the understanding of the technique as a whole but be able to apply it to their acting careers.This class is perfect for any age of student that does not have previous Meisner training.

 

ACTOR’S TOOLBELT – Ages 8-12 – 7:00-8:00pm

In this class your budding performer will discover the basic tools of acting and performing on stage. They will learn the frame work of the Stanislavski Technique to help them develop clear an interesting characters by defining objectives, tactics, obstacles, and on-stage relationships. They will also work on developing vocal clarity and projection, annunciation and diction, stage presence and direction. All these tools will give them the confidence to shine at their next audition or in their next show. They will have fun putting together scenes and songs that will be performed in a showcase at the end of the year.

 

IMPROVISATION – 12+ – 7:00-9:00pm

In this class, you will learn the fundamentals of Improvisation with aid of the Spolin technique (Yes, there is an actual technique to Improv!) Students will use exercises and games to train to compete in “Theatre Sports” style as well as use Improvisation to grow as a performer. Improv is a skill set that every actor should spend time training in because it can help actors in a variety of ways from self confidence to audition/callback scenarios. So, no matter if you are a master at improv or just want to learn how to think outside of the box ,this class is perfect for you!
